In-Person Worship at Eastside Lutheran
Dane County has now allowed churches to gather at 25% capacity. This change makes it feasible for us to worship with 100 people per service. Our live services are Thursday at 6:30 pm, Sundays at 8:00 am & 10:30 am. This will be our worship schedule for the foreseeable future.
We will be practicing social distancing as much as we possibly can. This means that the seating arrangements will be different. We won’t be shaking hands or giving hugs. We will, however, be able to be together to worship our God and Savior, who has blessed us even amid this pandemic. There are going to be some who do not feel comfortable coming to worship. We understand this and respect your decision. You will not be judged in any way. Our Thursday services will be recorded so we can continue to provide online worship. Some of you may only feel comfortable joining us if you are wearing a mask. Please wear your mask and join us. You will not be judged in any way. Some may be ready to join us without wearing a mask. If that’s your feeling, please join us. You will not be judged in any way.
Please understand that we will be taking every precaution that we can to make Eastside a safe place to be. We will be following social distance guidelines in our seating. We will be using the same modified service that we’ve been using online to help facilitate recording our services. We will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper in a slightly different way, again to maintain as much social distancing as we can. We will be sanitizing the building before and in between every service.
I know that there is certainly not an obvious answer to all of the questions that this pandemic has produced. Not everyone is going to agree on when is the best time to gather. That’s ok. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to practice humility and respect. This is a wonderful time for us to recognize that it’s ok to disagree on matters where God has not spoken and at the same time love one another. This is a wonderful opportunity to let our light shine as we do everything we possibly can to share the good news of Jesus’ love.
Please continue to pray for Eastside. Please continue to support Eastside with your offerings as you have been doing so faithfully these past few months. May God bless our efforts to carry out the work he’s given to us!
