Kids Spreading Kindness
It’s more than just playtime in Eastside’s After School Care! Our students are learning how to spread God’s love. They have been making cards and artwork for various nursing homes. Below is a thank you card they received from one of the volunteers who visits the shut-ins.
Dear Early Childhood Children,
Thank you so much for the Valentines you made. All the people that received Valentines from you were so happy to get a card! I wish you could see their eyes light up! They loved all the artwork you did on them. Most of these people are in wheelchairs and cannot walk anymore. Some of them are unable to even talk. They are lonely people. That is why you are such a blessing to others, because you care about others. You are doing God’s work. You make Jesus happy when you do for others. God bless you big time!!
Love,
Janet “Grandma” Silbaugh
Our next project is a Thrivent Action Team grant for personal items, devotional materials, and games in Easter bags for shut-ins. Students will also be tying lap quilts for residents who are wheelchair bound. Please pray for our students as they reach out to the community to share the Gospel while realizing that they don’t have to be a grown up to carry out His work.
