On Saturday, November 11th, Eastside Lutheran canvassed Madison’s east side community. They dropped off a paper bag and ask that people fill it up with non-perishable items for a local food shelter. On the bag and inside the bag was information about Eastside Lutheran church, school, and preschool. The following Saturday, Nov. 18, we returned to the community to pick up the bags. A huge thanks to all volunteers who made this a success! The Food for Thought Initiative picked up the bags yesterday, just in time to distribute to needy families this Thanksgiving. Hopefully this is a community service project that we can grow and continue on a yearly basis. Give thanks for all the blessings you have this season, but most of all for Jesus–your greatest reason for thanksgiving!
