What’s next?!? What could possibly happen next? Have you ever felt that way? Maybe all of us over the last two years where life has been full of so many twists and turns that we find ourselves asking, “What next?”

It was hot and dry in Babylon but they didn’t mind the heat of the sun on this day. After all, the climate wasn’t unlike their homeland of Israel. As teenagers they watched Israel surrender to the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar.
If I wanted to talk about something controversial this morning, I’d have plenty of things to choose from. Not the least of these would be the concept of freedom.

“They don’t make ‘em like they used to.” I’m guessing you’ve heard the phrase or perhaps have used it yourself.
A movie came out in 2005 called “End of the Spear.” It is based on true events which took place in Ecuador in the 1950’s.

When you think about your life, what times would you consider to be the most valuable? I’m not saying the most fun necessarily, but those times in which you grew the most, the times that paid off so to speak years later, the times that were the most valuable.
If I were to say, “See you next time!” What immediately comes to mind? Or how about, “My pleasure!” What pops into your head?
I knew a man who was very proud of his Christian heritage. In conversation he loved to bring up that his father helped build a church just north of town.
