I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Martin Luther College in 2001.  In 2013 I received my Master’s Degree in School Leadership from Martin Luther College.  I have served as principal and teacher in Kiel, WI for the previous twelve years of my ministry.

I have been married to my wife, Tracy, for twelve wonderful years.  We are blessed to have four amazing daughters.  We like to go for walks, bike rides, and just playing outside.

I am an avid sports fan.  I am a die-hard Wisconsin Badger, Minnesota Viking, and Milwaukee Brewer fan.  I enjoy playing basketball, softball, and golf.  In addition to sports I enjoy reading and learning family history.  I am a licensed WIAA basketball and volleyball official.  I enjoy working high school basketball games especially at the varsity level.

I am excited to be at Eastside and use the gifts God has given me to lead the school into the years ahead.

Hi, I’m Rachel Struck and I teach Kindergarten at Eastside Lutheran.  I am originally from Oakley, Michigan.  My love for teaching started at a young age and after attending high school at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, Michigan, I decided to continue my education at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.   In December of 2010, I graduated from Martin Luther College with an Elementary and Secondary degree in education.

In my free time I love spending time with friends and family, scrapbooking, reading, playing softball and traveling!

I love teaching and sharing the good news about Jesus with His little lambs!

 Mrs. Alyssa Scharrer

3K and 4K

Alyssa Scharrer graduated from Martin Luther College in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.  She taught preschool for 4 years and then took some time off to stay at home and raise her boys.  While Alyssa was at home she ran an in-home daycare and was also very involved in Sunday School and Christmas for Kids at her church.  As a teacher, she feels it is important to make learning fun and exciting while engaging children in a variety of hands on experiences.  She has a true passion for young children and watching them grow emotionally, socially, physically, and most of all spiritually.  She is very excited to get back into the classroom setting and share God’s love and forgiveness with your children.

Miss Jill Buehner

1st Grade

The love of children led me to pursue the teaching ministry. I received my teaching degree from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota and my state certification from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.

My first two years of teaching were spent on an Apache Reservation as a kindergarten and first grade teacher. I really enjoyed working with another culture and learned many things from these people.

Teaching in Oconomowoc and now in Madison has brought me back to my home state of Wisconsin. I have enjoyed coaching many sports with my favorites being volleyball and basketball. Working with remedial students has also been an area of interest.

I thank the Lord for giving me the privilege to serve Him here at Eastside.

                                                                             244-3045 ext. 21

I grew up in Waupun with 2 older sisters and 1 younger brother.  We were and still are all very active in sports, including watching the Badgers!

I married Ben on June 16, 2001 and we are blessed with 4 girls, Kieghtan (3/16/06), Keyanna (9/5/07), Kynzie (1/11/10) and Kyhan (10/12/11).

I have been blessed to be in the ministry since graduating from Martin Luther College in May of 2001.  My teaching ministry began in Kiel at Trinity as the kindergarten and first grade teacher in 2001-2002.  During the 2002-2003 school year I moved to teaching first and second grade.  I love teaching Christ Light and reading.  Seeing the children learn of their Savior and hearing them retell the Bible history stories brings joy to my heart.  I also enjoy teaching reading and have taken classes that count towards a reading license.

I had coached volleyball and basketball while teaching at Trinity.  I also coached varsity softball at Manitowoc Lutheran High School.

In my spare time I enjoy being active with my children and teaching them to cheer for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers.  I also enjoy spending time and being active with my niece and nephews.

I am enjoying getting know the many faces of Eastside and I look forward to working with the children and their families.
